Please don't take your car to this shop. You will be overcharged! I took my 2004 Acura TSX car here because it was overheating. I initially thought it was a hose issue but I found out after an Honest 1 mechanic inspected my car that I actually needed a new radiator. That's fine. So they quoted my a price for a new radiator, a new thermostat, and to flush of the system for nearly $773! And that's after a $50 OFF coupon I used at the end of the transaction. So had it not been for the coupon, the bill would have been over $800!!! That's more than double the price it would have cost had I gone to my regular mechanic - Foreign Tech Auto - which is one of THE BEST shops in town if you own an Acura, Honda or Toyota and are in need of repairs. The only 2 reason why I didn't go to my regular mechanic is because they are closed on the weekends. The issue happened on a Friday night. Plus, there was a threat of a hurricane coming (hurricane Dorian) and I wanted to get my car taken care of as soon as possible just to be safe. Oh, and just for my edification, I later called Foreign Tech and asked them how much I would have expected to pay for this same job and they told me roughly $350. Can I tell you I feel like an idiot??? $400 down the drain!!! Lesson learned. Honest 1 may have made a sale but they certainly lost a customer forever. They need to be called DIS-HONEST 1 ...... In response to the managers comment below regarding "contacting the repair shop I suggested and asked for pricing but they where unable to give me a definitive price until seeing the vehicle". You mean to tell me from mechanic to mechanic you could not tell them exactly what you did to my car to get an accurate price comparison??? Even their ball-park figure rounded up is still waaaay cheaper than what you charged me. Dis-Honest 1
Good afternoon Stephanie, I believe we spoke today in the store and we discussed your concern. I did contact the repair shop you suggested and asked for pricing but they where unable to give me a definitive price until seeing the vehicle. I then contacted other reputable shops with similar nation wide warranties and was quoted way over the price we gave you for lesser quality parts. Then, since we are repair pal certified I went to check the pricing and was also above the price you where given by our staff. In conclusion, our staff gave you the best price for your repairs with the best quality parts we can offer and a nation wide warranty. When comparing our prices to our competitors we must keep in mind the quality of the part in question and the warranty given by the shop. We are national franchise and can accommodate our customers in many ways that smaller shops can’t. Once again, we are sorry if you felt we overcharged you but this was not the case.
