I decided to try this place out because I normally don't trust dealerships and like to support small local businesses. Also, the reviews led me to believe that I would receive fair and honest service. Nope! After driving 30 minutes away, I show up to an immaculate shop (reason for a star) explaining that the check engine light is on for my electric vehicle and they immediately offer to do a complete diagnostic inspection. I explained that I already had the diagnostic scan completed and show them the list of Diagnostic Trouble Codes. They said the list I gave them didn't have the name of the codes so they don't know what they are and would need to do a complete diagnostic inspection. After the inspection, they would offer me a discount on the inspection if I allowed them to do the repairs, otherwise they would charge me full price on the inspection if I went somewhere else to do the repairs. I asked what all the diagnostic inspection entails and I was given a very vague explanation that led me to believe it would be nothing more than them hooking up a scanner to read the DTC codes. They also explained that they wouldn't be able to receive my vehicle that day because they were very busy and I would need to schedule an appointment. So i did. Meanwhile I decided to do further research on the codes my vehicle was displaying and found all the information related to the codes. All codes had to deal with control module communications. Rather than waste my time making that drive again for a diagnostic inspection, I contact them through email explaining that I no longer needed a diagnostic inspection and instead requested a quote on the services to repair my vehicle based off the full code descriptions I gave them. They don't respond. Days later I email them again and they replied they would be happy to offer me a quote if I can tell them what parts needed repairing. I repeated to them that I'm requesting a quote to repair the issues described according to the codes, not on parts. No response. In my research I learned that the codes displayed can occur when connecting to faulty charging stations and tend to go away days-weeks later or when connecting to other charging stations. Thankfully that is exactly what happened. No more check engine light. No more codes. What I learned from this experience is that this establishment is no different than a typical dealership or franchise mechanic shop trying to upsell you on things you don't necessarily need or want and seem focused only on maximizing profit. In this case I can only assume that they realized they would only be able to charge me on the diagnostic inspection and maybe an hour of labor to repair the communications issue. The only honest experience throughout this interaction is that they told me upfront that they would still charge me for a full diagnostic inspection regardless of what diagnostic codes I gave them. Long story short, I will not be returning to this establishment due to the treatment I received. ***To the manager(s) of this business, don't bother responding to this review since you couldn't bother to respond to my emails to earn my business. You tend to respond to all negative reviews with dismissal and/or excuses and I'm not interested in either. Just do better.***
Estevan, we are sorry that you feel that way. The front counter people are not mechanics and they do not know how to diagnose the car issue over the counter or email. When you showed up for your diagnosis concern we simply suggest make an appointment which is the normal practice whereever you go, if you want to get it done right. Secondly when you did your research and you wanted us to fix the issue we asked you to what exactly part you wanna replace as per your due diligence since we have no idea why we are doing that but only to accomodate your request we need to know what part you need replacement to give you the quote. We all can see how much you are helping a small business since dealer charges you arm and leg so you decided to come to us otherwise, i do not see your intentions of helping local and small businesses at all by looking at your reviews posted for every small business is negative.
